On March 8, 1978, the USPS issued a set of four American Quilt stamps. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with one of the four stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Charleston, WV) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the Cradle Quilt, a small quilt crafted by friends or relatives to welcome a new baby. The producer of this cover has also written a short commentary on different quilts - the Cradle Quilt, the Freedom Quilt, and the Scripture Quilt, as well as Story-telling Quilts. Historic and collectible, this is a lovely piece of quilting memorabilia. We have included a copy for you.
Double matted in green & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
