On October 16, 1984, the USPS issued a stamp to honor a Nation of Readers. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp, featuring Abraham Lincoln reading to his son Tad, cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features Americans across the country reading. Collectible, historic, and unaddressed, this is a great piece of postal and library memorabilia that makes a great gift for a librarian, anyone involved in a literacy program, or those of us who love reading.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  Remember that at Wall Art Collectibles we size our mat to only fit standard frame sizes allowing you to purchase the frame of your choice.        ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
