On February 10, 1999, the New Zealand Post issued a set of stamps celebrating different animals as pets....one of these is the Welsh Pony. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, in this case a Maxi Card, with the Welsh Pony stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Wanganui, N.Z.) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet or artwork encompassees the entire cover - Maxi Card means Maximum Artwork. Note the clever cancellation - one of the other animals in this set was a rabbit, hence the rabbit cancellation.
