On January 29, 1993, the USPS issued a stamp to honor research chemist, entrepreneur, and educator, Percy Lavon Julian. His stamp is featured on a genuine FIRST DAY COVER, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the CITY OF ISSUE (Chicago) on the FIRST DAY OF ITS ISSUE captioned above.
