On February 17, 1982, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating an early Bicycle of the 1870's in its series on transportation. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp  cancelled from the city of issue (Wheeling WV) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a man riding one of these early bicycles. Printed on silk, the picture has a luster and intensity of color that makes it look almost 3-dimensional. Great art, unaddressed, this cover is a collectible, historic piece of cycling memorabilia.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included ***
