On March 1, 1972, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate Yellowstone National Park on its 100th Anniversary. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming) on the first day of issue captioned above. The addition of two older stamps, which were added along with the new one and then cancelled along with it on its first day of issue, make this a Combo. These older stamps commemorate the Lewis & Clark Expedition issued in 1954, and the 50th Anniversary of the State of Wyoming issued in 1940.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a photo of the Lower Falls and "old Faithful." This is one of many pieces of postal stamp art celebrating the beauty of America offered by Wall Art Collectibles.
Double matted in blue & white, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity included***
