YANKEE STADIUM and 2008 ALL STAR GAME Limited Edition EVENT CARD

All Star Game *2008* at Yankee Stadium..... Postal Stamp Art is pleased to offer this Limited
Edition Event Card from the 2008 Major League Baseball All-Star
Game - done in
conjunction with Premier Postage and Major League
Baseball. The last All Star Game to ever be played in the old Yankee Stadium,
this card with its special 42-cents stamp featuring the logo of this
event, is 'cancelled' with a special 'commemorative obliterator',
thereby 'freezing' the date and place the game was played. If this
weren't enough, the artwork is from the 2007 painting Yankee Stadium by Thomas Kinkade. It's printed on silk, giving the color a
rich luminosity, and surrounded with an embossed gold border.
The
text below the picture (cachet) reads, "Yankee Stadium played host to the 2008 MLB All-Star-Game on July 15th and welcomed the superstars of Baseball for a fourth and final time to The House That Ruth Built. This limited edition collectible features Thomas Kinkade's famous Yankee Stadium painting and celebrates the 2008 Midsummer Classic as a grand stage to say farewell to a legend."
The card is secured to the mat by clear corners and can be
removed at any time; the 'mint condition' of this commemorative event
card is preserved.
Below are three historic, uncancelled postal stamps relating to
the All Star Game - Yankee Stadium theme. On the left is the 2001 stamp
for Yankee
Stadium, one of ten ballparks selected in the series titled
Classic Ballparks. In the middle is the 1983 stamp honoring Yankee
Great Babe Ruth.
On the right is the 1969 stamp commemorating the centennial of Professional Baseball.
The entire piece is sized to fit a standard 11x14 frame. All materials are acid-free. A Postal Stamp Art exclusive, this
matted event card and stamps mark the end of an era for a ballpark that
has witnessed a wealth of baseball history.
