YANKEE STADIUM has hosted more World Series games than any other ballpark. From the Babe to Mickey, from Joe to Derek - what a history! When the USPS issued the 10 Classic Ballpark stamps in 2001, Yankee Stadium had to be at the top of the list. Flanked by the Babe Ruth stamp (1983) and the Lou Gehrig stamp (1989), the Yankee Stadium stamp is a coveted stamp indeed. (There are only 2 of these stamps on each sheet.)
The year previous to Babe Ruth's joining the Yankees, attendance stood at 3 million. The year he joined attendance soared to 6 million - no wonder it is called THE HOUSE THAT RUTH BUILT.
