Printed on heavy stock paper, the full-color stamp depicting a woman serving is cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue (May 2, 1996.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) also featuring a woman serving is surrounded by an embossed border. Included too is a short commentary about Women's Beach Volleyball.
