On July 28, 1983, the USPS issued a set of four stamps to commemorate the upcoming 1984 Summer Olympic Games being hosted by Los Angeles, and the sport of Women's Archery. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, in this case two stamps, for Women's Archery cancelled from the city of issue (South Bend, Indiana) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The colorfull cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a woman archer. Because of diverse styles and equipment, archery did not become an olympic sport until 1931. Historic, collectible, this is a great piece of Archery.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
