In 1989, the island of Montserrat issued four separate stamps, one for each of the four major characters (see the Wall Art Collectible 11x 14 piece) plus a souvenir sheet showing Dorothy, the Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Woodman together. A Souvenir Sheet is one or several stamps surrounded by extra artwork. The artwork on this sheet depicts the brave band of four about to cross the field of poppies with the Emerald City in the background.
This sheet commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the movie. Souvenir Sheets are meant to be left intact and be collected; this one is no exception. Historic, collectible, and hard to find, this is a piece of postal art that will delight any Oz fan.
