On March 11, 1994, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the imprint or "stamp" commemorating the Sesquicentennial (1845-1995) of Wittenberg University located in Springfield, Ohio. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, in this case a postcard with the imprint or "stamp" cancelled from the city of issue (Springfield, Ohio) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a view of Myers Hall, also depicted on the "stamp." The producer of this cover has printed a brief history of the University on the back; we have included a copy for you.
