On May 19, 2005, the USPS issued a set of twelve stamps to honor MASTERWORKS OF MODERN AMERICAN ARCHITECTURE. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover for the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, CA. The envelope has the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Las Vegas, Nevada) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features an exterior view of Concert Hall looking like a magnificent ship under sail. Designed by Frank Gehry and completed in 2003, the Walt Disney Concert Hall is considered one of the most acoustically sophisticated concert halls in the world.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included as well as a short commentary on this MASTER OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE***
