On October 1, 1986, the USPS issued a set of four different stamps commemorating Wood Carving. The stamps depict a Cigar Store Indian, a Highlander Figure, a Nautical Figure and a Ship Figurehead. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with all four stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The sepia-colored cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a colonial wood carver at work.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. *** Certificate of Authenticity Included***
