On July 3, 1986, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the imprint or 'stamp' commemorating the 150th Anniversary of Wisconsin Territory. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color 'stamp', depicting early settlers, cancelled from the city of issue (Mineral Point, WI) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features the First Capitol in Belmont as well as Jean Nicolet, the First Explorer landing on shore of Green Bay.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
