Winston Churchill....
On May 13, 1965, the USPS issued an In Memoriam stamp to honor Winston Churchill within a year of his death. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Fulton, Mo.) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features Churchill's funeral cortege in fron of Big Ben. Also included is a tribute to Churchill, made an honorary American citizen on April 9, 1964, a year before he died, by President Lyndon Johnson. Historic, collectible, this is one of many items honoring famous people offered by Wall Art Collectibles.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
