The Islands of St. Vincent & the Grenadines issued a Souvenir Sheet commemorating the 1968 Disney film, "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day." All your favorite Pooh characters are shown here in full-color.
A Souvenir Sheet is a stamp or several stamps, in this case, one stamp, surrounded by extra artwork. They are meant to be left intact and collected. Most Disney stamps are produced by small countries who use highly-collectible postage stamps as a source of revenue. The country contracts with Disney, who, in turn supplies the artwork....Disney makes money on the licensing rights, the small country makes money on the sale of the stamp, and the Disney collector has more delightful Disney memorabilia to collect. A win-win-win!
