Welsh Springer Spaniel...
On February 7, 1979, the Royal Mail of the United Kingdom issued four full-colored stamps celebrating four different dog breeds...the Old English Sheepdog, the Welsh Springer Spaniel, the West Highland Terrier, and the Irish Setter. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover with the stamp for the Welsh Springer Spaniel cancelled from the city of issue (Llandrindod Wells Powys) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a wonderful portrait of a Welsh Springer Spaniel with his distinctive red and white spotted coat, thick enough to allow him to hunt for hours and retrieve through freezing waters. The producer of this cover has also written a short commentary about the Welsh Springer Spaniel, which we've included.
Matted in green, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. *** Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
