On February 22, 1989, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Statehood of Washington. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp, depicting Mt. Ranier, cancelled from the city of issue (Olympia, WA) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features the State Capitol at Olympia, the State Map, the State Bird & Flower, and, of course, George Washington. The producer of this cover has written a brief commentary about Virginia, which we've included.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
