On November 22, 1950, the USPS issued a set of four stamps commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the National Capital of the United States, Washington DC.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp depicting the 'Statue of Freedom' atop the US Capitol Dome in December of 1863, cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The  cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) again features the 'Statue of Freedom' with the US Capitol Dome in the background.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
