On August 1, 1964, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating Voter Registration in the US. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above. The addition of three older stamps, which were added to the envelope with the new stamp and then cancelled along with it on its first day of issue, make this cover a Combo - a highly prized piece of postal memorabilia. The older stamps feature a US Flag, Francis Scott Key, and Key's Credo.
The color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a painting by Caleb Bingham depicting Voting Day in the nineteenth century. This is one of several collectible, historic pieces of Patrotic Americana and Political Memorabilia offered by Wall Art Collectbles.
Double matted in light blue & dark blue, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
