On October 24, 1994, the USPS issued a stamp to honor the doctor who created the Newborn Test, Virginia Apgar. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Dallas, Texas) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a black & white portrait of Apgar as well as a doctor, mother and her newborn baby. This is a wonderful collectible, historic piece of medical memorabilia, particularly for a pediatrician or an OB/GYN.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. This is but one of the many medical pieces offered by Wall Art Collectibles. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED ***
