On February 18, 1999, the USPS issued a set of fifteen stamps to commemorate the decade of the 1940's. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp commemorating the Slinky cancelled from the city of issue (Dobbins AFB, Ga) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a young boy happily watching his Slinky 'walk' down the stairs. It's printed on silk, the luster lending an almost 3-dimensional quality to the picture.
Double matted in green & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
