On November 10, 1984, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC, one of the most moving memorials in the world. The two 246-foot converging walls display the names of 57,939 soldiers, silors and marines who died in the Vietnam War.The names are arranged in order of their deaths, beginning at the apex of the wall and leading outward.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cahet (artwork on the envelope) features a Gold Replica of the stamp.  An impression is taken from the plate that makes the stamp; it is then covered in 22ct.gold. Mounted on wine colored velvet mat board, it's surrounded by gold embossing and adorned on the top with the US Eagle. Expensive to produce, these covers were originally sold on a subscription basis only. This cover was collected back in 1984 and is now offered by Wall Art Collectibles.

Matted in green, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included as well as a short commentary about the Wall***
