On June 25, 1988, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the Statehood of Virginia. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp, depicting Colonial Williamsburg, cancelled from the city of issue (Williamsburg, VA) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features several scenes of Virginia, from tobacco to shipbuilding. The producer of this cover has written a brief commentary about Virginia, which we've included.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
