On June 23, 1980, the USPS issued a stamp to celebrate the Violin. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Williamsburg, PA), on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features a violin against a red, white, and blue banner. It's printed on silk, the luster lending an almost three dimensional quality to the print.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
