On April 20, 1998, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the imprint or "stamp" commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), located in Oxford, Miss. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, in this case a postcard with the imprint or "stamp" cancelled from the city of issue (Oxford, MS) the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts the columns on the classic Lyceum, the university's first campus building. This Greek Revival style of the original Lyceum near ancient Athens, now houses the administration offices. A full frontal view is featured on the "stamp."
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
