Joel Chandler Harris - "Uncle Remus"..... Wall Art Collectibles is proud to
offer this one-of-a-kind matted piece of Postal Stamp Art celebrating Uncle Remus
and the author who created him Joel Chandler Harris. On top is an art print
from Disney's "Song of the South" depicting Br'er Rabbit skipping down the road. Underneath are three large, uncancelled
stamps from Turks & Caicos Islands issued in 1981. From left to
right they feature Br'er Fox and
Br'er Bear, Br'er Rabbit and Tar Baby, and Br'er Rabbit again.
This
piece of postal stamp art is completed with a genuine First Day Cover honoring author Joel Chandler Harris.
The envelope is pristine and unaddressed with the stamp cancelled from
the city of issue
(Eatonton, Georgia) on the first
day of issue (December 9, 1948.) The black and white cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows
a portrait of Harris with his beloved Uncle Remus characters that Disney
immortalized in "Song of the South." The drawings look like Disney
artwork. The tribute to Harris reads, "One Hundredth Birthday
Anniversary of Joel Chandler Harris 1848-1948, Creator of the Immortal
Uncle Remus."
Matted in blue, this piece is
sized to fit a standard 11x14
frame. At Postal Stamp Art, we always mat to
standard sizes giving you the option of selecting the frame of your
choice. ***Certificate of Authenticity
