Ulysses S. Grant.... The 18th President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant was born on April 27, 1822 in Point Pleasant, Ohio. In 1977 The White House Historical Association commissioned commemorative covers for the presidents. Shown here is the cover for Grant, featuring a postmark "freezing" the day of April 27, and the place - Point Pleasant, Ohio. On a Commemorative Cover the stamp serves as current postage, for without the post office would not affix the cancellation.
