On July 4, 1975, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the American Militia, the predecessor of the National Guard. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the militia during the Revolutionary War. Historic, collectible, this is a great piece of military memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, we've sized this piece to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity included plus a short blurb on the Militia***
