On March 29, 1985, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the U.S. Capitol. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the Capitol at night. The cachet is printed on silk which gives the picture a lovely luminosity. This is one of several collectible, historic pieces of Patrotic Americana offered by Wall Art Collectbles.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
