Corinthian Column - US Capitol.... On May 12, 2008, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the 'stamp' or imprint to commemorate the Corinthian columns on the U.S. Capitol. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a photograph of the ornate columns. The cachet is printed on silk
which gives the picture a lovely luminosity. This is one of several
collectible, historic pieces of Patriotic Americana as well as
Architecture offered by Postal Stamp Art.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
