On June 7, 1985, the USPS issued a stamp to honor the Father of West Point, Sylvanus Thayer. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Braintree, Mass.) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Thayer and a view of West Point. Collectible, historic, this is a great piece of U.S. Army memorabilia.
Double matted in green & white, this is matted to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
