On August 6, 1970, the USPS issued a stamp to honor the Supreme Allied Commander of WWII, General Dwight D. Eisenhower. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Eisenhower and the US Troops at Normandy. Collectible, historic, this is a great piece of U.S. Army and WWII memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, this is matted to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
