On November 5, 1948, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (El Paso, Texas) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the US Calvery as well as a portion of the mural in the Post Office in El Paso. A 1945 uncancelled US Army stamp has also been added to the envelope. Historic, collectible, this cover is almost 60 years old, a great piece of US Army memorabilia.
Double matted in dark military green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
