On April 22, 1994, the USPS issued a stamp to honor the Buffalo Soldiers. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Dallas, Texas) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features Buffalo Soldiers as well as the insignia of the 10th Calvary, the fighting unit given the name "Buffalo Soldier" by the Cheyenne because of their fierce fighting ability. Historic, collectible, this is a great piece of African American and US Army memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
