On June 30, 2004, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 150th anniversary of the USS Constellation, presently maintained and moored in Baltimore and having the distinction of the first US Navy ship to capture a foreign warship. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Baltimore, Md.) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the Constellation printed on silk. Great art, unaddressed, this cover is a collectible, historic piece of sailing and naval memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, this piece will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included plus***
