On February 22, 1985, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the Pacific Fleet Commander during WWII Chester W. Nimitz. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Fredericksburg, Texas) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Nimitz as well as his flagship, the USS Missouri.
Double matted in blue & white, we've sized this piece to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity included plus a short bio of Nimitz***
