USS Los Angeles (SSN 688)........... On March 27, 2000, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the Los Angeles Class Submarine. This stamp was one of five issued in a prestige booklet to commemorate the Centennial of the U.S. Navy Submarine Force. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Groton, Ct.) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the USS Los Angeles (SSN 688), the fourth ship to be named after the city of Los Angeles and the name-ship of her class.
Double matted in blue & white, we've sized this piece to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity included***
