Ida Lewis - Heroine at Lime Rock Light.....

A "founding mother" to the US Coast Guard, Ida Lewis is credited with saving as many as two dozen lives in her 54 year career as keeper of the Lime Rock Light in Rhode Island. Shown here is a full-color art print of a painting depicting Ida Lewis rescuing a shipwrecked victim. We've paired this print with an uncancelled, collectible 1945 stamp honoring the U.S. Coast Guard.
