On July 2, 1991, the USPS issued a stamp depicting the Southwest Asia Medal to honor the men and women who served in Operation Desert Storm. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the Desert Storm stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue (captioned above.)
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) highlights the contribution of the United States Air Force to the liberation of Kuwait by depicting an Air Force pilot in flight gear. If you or someone in your family served with the Air Force in the Persian Gulf War, this is a great pice of military memorabilia which can be proudly displayed and handed down to future generations as part of your family's history.
Double matted in blue & white, we have sized it to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included plus a short blurb on the war and the contribution of the U.S. Air Force***
