Boeing's C-97 Stratofreighter, combining components of the B-29 and B-50 into a cargo transport, was first delivered to the USAF in October 1949 with a total of 76 Stratofreighters being built. Shown here is a Commemorative Cover, an envelope with the stamp commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the USAF as its own service branch is cancelled from Seattle, WA (Boeing's Headquarters), November 9, 1997.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a full-color aerial view of the C-97 in a tanker mode. The company that produced this cover has written a brief commentary about this plane, which we've included.
Matted in blue, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. At Wall Art Collectibles, we always mat to standard frame sizes, allowing you to select the frame of your choice.
