Shown here are two genuine Commemorative Covers - one for the men and one for the women - cancelled at UConn Station in Hartford, CT on the date the city hosted its parade to welcome its heroes. On a commemorative cover, the stamp merely serves the purpose of supplying current postage, for without it, the post office would not affix a cancellation. Note the special postmark designed for the cancellation of the stamp on these covers depicting a male and female player with the words, "UConn 2004 National Champs." The city and date are written on a basketball dropping into the basket.
