On July 28, 1993, the USPS issued five stamps to commemorate the "Iron Horse" of the late 1800's. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover in the form of an envelope, with All Five Stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Chama, New Mexico) on the first day of issue captioned above. The five locomotives are the : Hudson's General, McQueen's Jupiter, Eddy's No. 242, Ely's No. 10, and Buchanan's No. 999.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the card) features several locomotives painted in watercolors. The beautiful cachet plus the fact that the entire series is cancelled on the first day, makes this piece a collectible, historic piece of postal and railroad memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, this piece will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
