On October 31, 1980, the USPS issued their secular Holiday stamp, a Toy Drum, Whistle & Top. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Chirstmas, Michigan) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows children in front of an enticing Toy Shop. The producer of this cover also wrote a brief commentary about the "Golden Age of Toys." We have included a copy for you.
Double matted in green & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
