The Tony for Best Director goes to:  Moss Hart.....

On October 25, 2004, the USPS issued a stamp to honor playwright, director of plays and musical theater, and Tony-Award Winner for the direction of "My Fair Lady".....Moss Hart.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp depicting a portrait of Hart with his name in lights, cancelled from the city of issue (New York City) on the first day of issue captioned above.  The addition of three older stamps, added to the envelope and then cancelled with the new one, honor George M. Cohan, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin.

The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office, which is not allowed to put artwork on their envelopes) features a portrait of Hart, again with his name in lights and the masks of comedy and tragedy.  It's printed on silk, the luster lending an almost three-dimensional look to the picture.

Matted in blue, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.   ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
