On May 19, 2005, the USPS issued a set of twelve stamps to honor MASTERWORKS OF MODERN AMERICAN ARCHITECTURE. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover for the TWA Terminal at JFK International Airport in New York. The envelope has the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Las Vegas, Nevada) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the curving, sculptural forms meant to capture the romance of flight. Architect Eero Saarinen's landmark design brought modern architecture to the airport.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included as well as a short commentary on this MASTER OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE***
