On December 29, 1945, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Statehood of Texas. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Auston, TX) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features the different flags that have flown over Texas.
