On March 16, 1959, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating The Hermitage, home of Andrew Jackson located just outside Nashville. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Hermitage, TN) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features a front view of The Hermitage and a small inset of Jackson.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
