On August 15, 2002, the USPS issued a set of four stamps to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the American Teddy Bear first produced in 1902 by the Ideal Toy Corporation. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with all four stamps - the complete set, - depicting a Gund, Ideal, Bruin, and Stick Bear, cancelled from the city of issue (Atlantic City, NJ) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a melange of bears - caramel colored, chocolate brown, and even a panda bear, (oh my!) with blocks spelling out 'Ted.' It's rendered in watercolors by award-winning cachet artist, Sue Allen. Any arctophile will love this historic matted collectible 1st Day Cover, with the complete set of stamps cancelled on their 'birthday,' for their wall.
Double matted in blue & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
